Setting Up Client Treatment Approach in PathwayNotes

Setting Up the Treatment Approach — Selecting Modalities

The Treatment Approach tells the AI which clinical framework to use with a specific client. PathwayNotes lets you stack multiple modalities and mark specific techniques as priorities.

Available Modalities

The current library includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Check the Treatment Approach modal for the current full list as new modalities are added.

Selecting Techniques

Expand any modality to see its techniques. The counter — for example, 4 out of 10 — shows how many are active. Toggle on or off based on what's clinically relevant right now.

Marking Priority Techniques

Tap the star next to any technique to mark it as a priority. Priority techniques are weighted more heavily across reflections, insights, and the Session Prep panel. Three well-chosen priorities give the AI a sharp clinical focus.

How to Update

From the client's Overview tab, tap the pencil icon next to Treatment Approach. Adjust, star, tap Save. Changes take effect on the next AI interaction.
